BaniAdam five year wash approach – 2025 to 2029

In 2025, Baniadam in partnership with NCA has embarked on a new operational strategy of working very closely with the target communities in implementing the second phase of climate-resilient WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) programs under humanitarian and development framework supported by Norway Government.

Climate resilient programs are essential for safeguarding vulnerable communities against the adverse impacts of climate change. These programs shall aim to ensure sustainable access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and hygiene services, even in the face of climate-induced challenges such as floods, droughts, and extreme weather events that are prevalent in Somalia. The key components of projects under the climate resilient shall include policy integration, community engagement, infrastructure adaptation, and inclusive approaches.

To deliver equitable WASH services, we continue emphasize on inclusive approached that address the needs of marginalized groups, including people with disabilities and women both in urban and rural areas. While these components are critical, challenges such as project financing disconnects and insecurity persists. To address these issues, we shall require a multifaceted approach, including updating fundraising efforts to ensure adequate financing.
