Who we are
Bani’Adam Relief & Development Organization is a Somali NGO founded in 1991 in response to the humanitarian crisis caused by civil war and natural disasters. We focus on providing essential services, advocating for human rights, and promoting peacebuilding in five regions of South Central Somalia. Bani’Adam has grown from a small agency to a leading provider of relief in the region, working closely with partners to deliver WASH programs, agricultural and livelihood support, and community development initiatives.
Our success is attributed to our strong relationships with beneficiaries, community leaders, and international organizations. Our diverse staff, drawn from the regions we serve, allows us to understand the specific needs and contexts of each community. This deep understanding is key to delivering effective and relevant humanitarian programs.

Baniadam History
Bani’Adam Relief & Development Organization is a Non-Governmental organization with roots in Somalia. Founded immediately after the collapse of the Siad Barre Government in 1991 by a group of Somalia intellectuals and philanthropists to respond to numerous humanitarian challenges as a result of the civil war and frequent natural disasters like drought and floods which lead to lack of basic services and great human suffering. Bani’Adam has grown to become one of the leading players in responding to humanitarian needs in Somalia. Since its formation, Bani’Adam has dedicated her efforts and resources to support lives of the most vulnerable communities in South Central by providing essential basic services and advocating for the protection of their rights. Bani’Adam has grown from a humble agency targeting one district to the current coverage of five regions in the South Central - Banadir, Middle Shabelle, Lower Shabelle, Mudug and Galgaduud. From 1991, Bani’Adam working closely with other development partners has implemented programs in WASH, Agriculture and livelihoods, Peace building, Conflict resolution and Community capacity building.
Bani’Adam boasts a long list of successfully completed and running programs through support of various partners since 1991. This success is attributed partly to the organization’s known culture of establishing, developing and nurturing lasting relationships and partnerships with beneficiaries, community leaders, local authorities, international aid agencies and other stakeholders with the aim of delivering relevant, timely and effective humanitarian programs. Bani’Adam, is acceptable in all five regions and can work all regions of South Central. Our staff combination is diverse and are drawn from all the regions and communities we work in. This has enabled Bani’Adam to play an important role in the successful delivery of humanitarian services since our staff s have a deep grasp of the context in the different regions. Baniadam has earned recognition as an institution (Organization) of repute from Federal Government, Regional Federal States, International Organizations, the United Nations and its system and various NGOs.
